Logistics Operations Manager for Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE), NATO in the former Yugoslavia (1996 – 1997)

* Logistically supported the soldiers of NATO and non-NATO nations enforcing peace in Bosnia.  Created logistic requirement for the conversion from UN to NATO authority.  Assisted economically challenged nations in developing their logistic support.

* Created and managed systems demonstrating logistic transfers between UN and NATO.  Deadlines met through close coordination, diplomacy and understanding various cultural values.

* Initiated and collaborated on procedures that minimized or eliminated maneuver damage claims against NATO and non-NATO units.   The procedures saved SHAPE $17 million in claims.

Commander, 360th Transportation Company, Fort Carson, CO (1994 – 1996)

* Directed the efforts of a 150 person Line Haul Transportation with a vehicle fleet of 66 petroleum and 32 general cargo vehicles.  Managed a $1.8 million fleet maintenance budget.  Supervised and managed all aspects of leadership, administration, training, evaluating, personnel and equipment dispatching/tasking, morale, discipline and welfare.

* Devised a post cost saving initiative for transporting bulk petroleum by replacing contracted carriers with 360th Trans owned vehicles reducing the post petroleum costs by 30% while exercising the units vehicles and increasing troop fuel handling training.

* Developed and implemented a training initiative for the handling and transport of hazardous material following Federal, State and local environmental statutes.  Maintained 100% incident free record while traveling 30,000 miles over a two year period.

Logistics Support Manager, 68th Corps Support Battalion, Fort Carson, CO (1993 – 1994)

* Logistically supported 1,100 people within six multifunctional organizations.  Responsible for the training, directing and supervising a staff of 10 highly specialized logisticians in maintaining the installations largest vehicle fleet. Managed and operated $87 million of equipment inventories, organizational supply, service budgeting and accounting.

* Personally managed force modernization programs that included new fleet automation and the activation of two new vehicle fleets.  

* Managed and supervised a $3 million maintenance and training budget for the six multifunctional units by establishing system managers in each unit.  All organizations achieved accurate and timely repair part order and resupply, tracked vehicle down time and trends.

Training and Operations Manager, 43rd Corps Support Group, Fort Carson, CO (1992-1993)

* Coordinated the staff responsibility for the training and readiness of 4,000 soldiers.  Assisted the Executive Director in establishing training policies, planning long and short term training goals and activities.  Assembled and published the Executive Director’s annual and quarterly training guidance.  

* Managed the Somalian Theater time phased forces deployment and redeployment schedule.  Remained 100% accurate and flexible while coordinating and changing unit and equipment flow sequencing through US Army and Air Force Headquarters while deployed in Somalia.  

* Planned and coordinated all training for organization deploying outside the United States.

Commander, 1st Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Co, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia (1991 – 1992)

* Directed the efforts of 220 people deployed in support of Operation Desert Storm.  Replaced commander of a failing unit.  Rejuvenated the unit’s morale, mission effectiveness and reorganized personnel and equipment into the Army’s first Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Company as brief to and approved to the three Lieutenant General in charge of theater support.

* Optimized the process of shipping and receiving cargo containers through innovative staging of container handling equipment, fork lifts, cranes rough terrain container handlers, and people.  Reduced port fees and improved time scheduling by 30%. 

Small Unit Combat Leader, Fort Ord, CA (1986 – 1991)

* Led and directed 32 highly skilled people in training, peace keeping, fighting forest fires, hostile environments’, and combat.  Responsible to train and prepare them to go anywhere at any time, to accomplish difficult tasks in austere environments, and return safely.

* Attained exceptional leadership skills by virtue of lengthy employment in positions that required the daily use of initiative, interpersonal skills and example style leadership.
